Havent tried this run with triple axe but when i used to do it i always spent like 5-10 minutes just getting all spiders at entrance of the cave in one spot and it never works. There is always 2 or 3 that are just out of hitting range but close enough to heal the others with spring. It annoys me >< any hints.
Monty: just run to an area with no skales and the snarling drifters are easy kills and do drop shards and goods. their should be one group of three skales at beginning. Run through them hugging the inner wall and stop when the unaggro and make sure not to run into the group of three skales that are not moving. Usually by now you have aggroed 3 or 6 snarling driftwoods. Again easy kills. after those watch the patrol of 3 or so dryders and find a good time to run through the stationary skales and continue hugging the wall. Heal up and you have some snarlings close to you so aggro them and kill em. Then keep hugging the wall and continue and if you run into a dryder kill it or just run. The cave should be just ahead.
EDIT: One more question
If I press cyclone axe then triple chop in a quick sucsession does it cause the spiders to run like aoe? just wondering

Nobody can simply tell you; it changes every time. You have to learn this run - you can't just humanbot it on autopilot.

Happy killing. ^^

anyone already used this shield? if so, is it a big difference/
i use in my spider farm build whatchfull spirit (+2 regen without attribute wasted) so im almost constant enchanted and im in constant flurry. My question is i have a -2 while in stance -2 while enchanted shield (so -4 dmg reduction), is this better than +10 armor (vs piercing) or is -4 dmg reduction better?

Can't find where that article is in the guru database at the moment, but I believe it depends on how much defense you're bringing in the first place. Too much armour has diminishing returns, so if you're packing say Dolyak Signet and Watch Yourself the -2/-2 I believe is better than another +10.

I think it depends more on your build. I wouldn't run an enchant build in FoW because every bugger strips them, so I'm better off with Legionnaire's Armour, Phys Res and a 45/-2 shield; at an average 160AL the -2 in stance is enough to zero nearly all attacks against me. However, a build not running stances other than Sprint is better using Gladiator's armour for the +5 base AL but needs an extra +10 to reach 160AL. That's where this new shield comes in.

just remove ur whatchfull spirit when u plan to take out any doubter dryders and u will be fine with enchantments in the whole run.
with this 1 on me, i just have to hit healing sig lesser, so i can attack more.
(only 2 degen)

with watchful spirit means your a monk so then you cant have phys resis so your probably using doylak signet which takes a long time to get from spider to spider

Hey Racthoh, does the Dragon Slash combo make this faster? I've grown too attached to Hundred Blades, and I've been giddy with all the new adrenaline swords skills so I've not tried it out on the spider run yet.

The dragon slash, sun and moon will not work because it hit's 1 target only, meaning one of the others can trigger healing springs =(.
I did a 2 runs 2 days ago and didn't see 1 single chest down there...anyone else having this problem?

Well, I could just tab through and attack them each once.... I'll just have to try it out.

Eh, I've found that if you're in melee range of all spiders in a group, they won't use heal spring, so you can focus on one all you want. And yeah, noticed a lack of chests lately too, but maybe that's just my luck. :/

As of yesterday, I finally finished exploring Cantha as much as I think I can (87%, ugh forget it) so I'll probably start experimenting again with this. The problem is, I've grown too attached to Healing Hands and Frenzy. Spending 1/4 of a second to heal, as opposed to 2 seconds multiple times per run saves a fair amount of time. Not to mention since I'm playing with 16 sword, and Frenzy.

-2 damage reduction is better than 10 armor depending on how much the base damage is.
For spiders, -2 damage is better than 10 armor without question.
BTW that shield the guy was talking about (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Geoffer%27s_Bulwark) is +30 health / +10 vs piercing

you could also use 2nd profession Mesmer with physical resistance, + dolyak + watch yourself, then they'll do no damage at all, apart for the poison.
then you can just take some other damage skills, that's all
